Well, I finally got around to installing a partition of Windows on my Mac, which means I can finally use Apophysis properly again. It's about the only reason I can give for missing Windows! It was pretty painful to watch a laggy, bugged out Apophysis running in Wine and struggling to cope with simple tasks like zooming and then crashing out! It was painful but it was manageable. Now I can start throwing out fractals again like I used to.
This is also the first time I discovered that Apophysis has a built in depth feature, and I had always been using photoshop to blur before this, although I'm not too sure this attempt worked out well or not!

this is an interesting one, it's a 3D julian (i think :P) but not the usual composition which is quite refreshing.

there's something which i can't put my finger on though - could be something to do with the depth of field (can't remember what it's called now - the blur around the edges lol). maybe if it was taken back a little? there's such a small area in focus which gives the eye limited space to wander.

apart from that, the colours are stunning. couldn't have chosen better. the jewels stick out perfectly =)

I love how detailed this is, it looks like fabric covered with small gems. I really like the feeling of depth as well. I'd like it if it wasn't so centered. The colors are fantastic!
